Communications Collaboratives

Three women collaborating over documents at a desk.

Our Goal: Public health staff can communicate clearly and quickly with the communities they serve.

Public health staff need to have access to tools, resources, and skills to build trust, to support healthy behaviors, to notify the public of emerging threats, and to elevate the importance of public health in their communities and across the state.

The communications collaboratives are focused on the deepening the capacity of public health staff in local and state health departments across NC by regularly offering a space for peer learning, resource sharing, and strategy improvement.

A bit of what you'll experience in our collaboratives:

  • Connection to your peers

  • Awareness of new resources and trainings

  • Opportunities for in-person events

  • Workshops focused on health communication topics

This work is ever-evolving! Currently, there are three collaboratives across North Carolina divvied up by local health director regions.

  • Regions 1 & 2 (WNC Health Communicators Collaborative) is facilitated by WNCHN monthly.

  • Regions 3, 5, 7, 9 & 10 (North Central Communications Collaborative) is facilitated by NCIPH monthly.

  • Region 4, 6, & 8 (South Central Communications Collaborative) is facilitated by NCIPH monthly.

We'd love to have you join us and experience the value of these collaboratives.
