
Executive Leadership Short Course

Course Overview
Take your leadership to the next level through this four-month course designed for mid-career and senior leaders in local and state agencies.
This program is designed to enhance leadership skills through interactive learning sessions, peer coaching, and applied problem-solving connecting to the NC Public Health Leadership Institute. The course includes four web-based seminars and three peer coaching sessions. Priority registration to the NC Public Health Leadership Institute.
This course is for:

Leaders with 8+ years of experience guiding people and/or portfolios

Leaders responsible for driving change across teams or systems

Leaders who want to strengthen their leadership capacity, improve team effectiveness, and better navigate organizational systems and change
Participants will:

Strengthen strategic self-awareness to enhance leadership impact across teams and systems.

Apply systems thinking to address complex public health challenges and improve team effectiveness.

Strengthen skills in delivering clear, behavior-based feedback that drives accountability and performance.

Apply practical strategies increase team’s capacity to adapt and respond to change.

Enhance ability to understand and navigate system roles and structures.
Program Timeline
The Executive Leadership Short Course meets in a virtual format with four learning sessions with subject matter experts and three peer-coaching sessions led by course faculty. Over the course of the program, participants should be prepared for approximately 14 hours for instruction and assignments.
